Meiji Town, Inuyama, Japan
Last Monday, [info]valkyrie_chan and I visited the "open air museum" Meiji-mura (Meiji town) in Inuyama. It's made up of a lot of amazing old buildings from the Meiji era (late 19th/early 20th century) from all over Japan as well as structures built by Japanese settlers in other parts of the world, and even has its own postal system and trolley and train. So cute! Anyway, it's MASSIVE so we only got to see a small part, but we did take lots of pictures!

My parasol was almost too big for the "umbrella seller"...

Hello! *waves*

I'm new to this community and new to lolita. I've always dressed very colorful and childish and for a while I was very big into decora. I've been in a fashion rut for the past year or so, just wearing normal clothes with a few decora-ish things from before. I'm 20 years old and I am just not feeling that style anymore and the fact that everyone thinks I'm a young teen doesn't help...  I've always admire lolita and especially gothic lolita. I think I'm going going to radically change my style.

Does anyone know where in Toronto, Ontario, I can find gothic lolita clothing and other goth-but-still-cutesy clothing?

Sweets & Alice in Wonderland Jewelry..?

Hello everyone :)

I know these requests tend to get irritating but I rarely ever make them unless I've made sure that I can't find the information I'm looking for on my own. So, anyway, a few months ago I came across some really good Etsy 'shops' for sweets jewelry but now I just can't seem to find those links anymore.. Also, if you happen to know of any other sites, et cetera, aside from pancakemeow and sweet cravings (or whatever it was called) that sell sweets jewelry or Alice in Wonderland-themed jewelry, please do share ;D

Thank you for your time egl, any help is appreciated XD !

Disney Casual Coordination Help
Well, I'm going back to Cali to visit my parents and go to Disneyland. I've heard from various sources that Disney does not allow really fancy lolita, so I wanted to see if this coordination I came up with would be, uhhhh, I dunno, too flashy for Disney?

Hey egl~ long time lurker here. I thought it was about time I introduce myself. I'm Ruin, fifteen and a loli from the Philippines. I've been wearing loli for a while now. Well lolita inspired – a more toned down skirt and blouse combo with berets, is the sort of thing I do. Usually I do my homework, but I'm just dead on this subject. Where can I find a pannier petticoat or do I have to have one custom made? :] i've checked local fabric stores and they don't have them so.

Oh and as a way to give back to the community, I'd like to introduce two lolita sellers in the Philippines with reviews. Freekiss and Lovelace. I've met the owner of FreeKiss – charming girl really. I got the chance to buy a skirt and a mini-top hat from her. Decent quality, interesting designs. And as of Lovelace, I've ordered two bows from her and I'm having a headdress commissioned. Although from when I talked to her, I think she'll be focusing more on accessories. Anyway, I'll be seeing her next convention (mangaholix). I don't know if they ship out of the country, so I think this is for the benefit of pinoylolis. But if they did, then I'd say GO FOR IT. Prices are in Philippine peso by the way. The only problem I think is stock.

And another thing – shopping advice for anyone going to the Philippines/in the Philippines: attend conventions. Multiply is your friend. Nothing is ever “OMGLOLITA” just mostly lolita-ble items. Thrift Stores and Tiangee (market stalls? Idk) are brilliant. Spring/Summer collections are your friends! It's too hot to wear coats without looking weird.

Also just in addition, If anyones planning on going to Thailand I'd recommend Pardoza. They've opened a shop in siam paragon and siam square. There stuff is of good quality, quite good for punk lolita. I bought these shoes (should I use this for lolita? D: I use them for VK mostly). Also for any lolita visiting thailand, platinum is great for funky and trendy clothes but like ... siam square has some lolita finds. :P

Okay. I'm done. I hope my babbling was helpful to some people. And any petticoat (and maybe shoe coordination) advice will be loved.
