Hey egl~ long time lurker here. I thought it was about time I introduce myself. I'm Ruin, fifteen and a loli from the Philippines. I've been wearing loli for a while now. Well lolita inspired – a more toned down skirt and blouse combo with berets, is the sort of thing I do. Usually I do my homework, but I'm just dead on this subject. Where can I find a pannier petticoat or do I have to have one custom made? :] i've checked local fabric stores and they don't have them so.
Oh and as a way to give back to the community, I'd like to introduce two lolita sellers in the Philippines with reviews.
Freekiss and
Lovelace. I've met the owner of FreeKiss – charming girl really. I got the chance to buy a skirt and a mini-top hat from her. Decent quality, interesting designs. And as of Lovelace, I've ordered two bows from her and I'm having a headdress commissioned. Although from when I talked to her, I think she'll be focusing more on accessories. Anyway, I'll be seeing her next convention (mangaholix). I don't know if they ship out of the country, so I think this is for the benefit of pinoylolis. But if they did, then I'd say GO FOR IT. Prices are in Philippine peso by the way. The only problem I think is stock.
And another thing – shopping advice for anyone going to the Philippines/in the Philippines: attend conventions. Multiply is your friend. Nothing is ever “OMGLOLITA” just mostly lolita-ble items. Thrift Stores and Tiangee (market stalls? Idk) are brilliant. Spring/Summer collections are your friends! It's too hot to wear coats without looking weird.
Also just in addition, If anyones planning on going to Thailand I'd recommend
Pardoza. They've opened a shop in siam paragon and siam square. There stuff is of good quality, quite good for punk lolita. I bought
these shoes (should I use this for lolita? D: I use them for VK mostly). Also for any lolita visiting thailand, platinum is great for funky and trendy clothes but like ... siam square has some lolita finds. :P
Okay. I'm done. I hope my babbling was helpful to some people. And any petticoat (and maybe shoe coordination) advice will be loved.
